Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the diced onion for about 5-7 minutes until browned and softened.
  • Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth.
  • Add the cooked beef and onion to the bowl and season with salt and pepper; mix well.
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and layer the frozen French fries evenly across the bottom.
  • Pour the beef mixture over the fries, spreading it evenly.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes
