Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add ground beef and diced onion. Cook until beef is browned and onions are translucent, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup and milk or beef broth until smooth. Season with paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • In the greased baking dish, combine the cooked rice with the beef mixture and half of the shredded cheese. Pour the creamy sauce over this blend and mix gently.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top and cover with aluminum foil.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until top is bubbly and golden brown. Optionally broil for 2 minutes for a crispy topping.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot.

Notes

Consider substituting ground beef for turkey or chicken for a leaner dish. You can also add vegetables for additional nutrition.
