Caramelizing the Onions

  • Stir in the minced garlic for the last 1-2 minutes.

Toasting the Orzo

  • Add uncooked orzo to the skillet, toasting for about two minutes.
  • Gently incorporate the shredded chicken, thyme, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce (if using).

Simmering the Broths

  • Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Cover and cook for about 8-10 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.

Baking to Perfection

  • Stir in the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan until melted.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Transfer the skillet to the oven and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake uncovered for 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
