Marinated Meat Pita

Ingredients
  

For the Meat

  • 4 pieces Chicken breasts or beef steak Main protein source.
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced for marinade.
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin For warm, earthy flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika Adds sweetness and color.
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Known for anti-inflammatory effects.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For marinating and cooking.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Enhances flavors.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Pepper For seasoning.
  • 4 pieces Pita bread For wrapping the filling.

For the Stuffed Dates

  • 10 pieces Dates Fresh and plump.
  • 0.5 cup Almonds Finely chopped for stuffing.
  • 0.5 cup Walnuts Finely chopped for stuffing.
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Optional, for stuffing.

Instructions
 

Marination

  • In a large bowl, combine minced garlic, cumin, paprika, turmeric, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Cut the chicken or beef into uniform pieces and marinate them in the spice mixture. Let them sit for a few hours or overnight.

Stuffing Dates

  • Select fresh, plump dates and carefully pit each date without splitting them.
  • Finely chop almonds and walnuts, and mix with cinnamon if desired. Stuff each date with the nut mixture.

Cooking the Meat

  • Preheat the grill or oven.
  • Place the marinated chicken or beef on the grill, cooking for 7-10 minutes on one side.
  • Flip the meat halfway through and grill until the desired doneness (15-20 minutes total).

Assembling the Pitas

  • Allow the meat to rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  • Warm the pita bread and assemble by placing sliced meat inside along with garlic sauce and pickles.
  • Serve the stuffed dates on the side.

Notes

Marinate meat overnight for deeper flavor. Substitute meat with grilled vegetables or tofu for a vegetarian version. Use a meat thermometer to check doneness.
