Preparation

  • Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and shape them into loose balls.
  • Season each ball lightly with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Place each seasoned beef ball onto the preheated grill or skillet and press down firmly to flatten each ball into a patty.
  • Cook the patties for about three minutes on one side.
  • Flip the patties, adding cheese slices on top if desired.
  • While the patties cook, toast the hamburger buns on the grill for a minute or two until golden.

Assembly

  • Spread secret sauce or desired condiment on the bottom half of each toasted hamburger bun.
  • Place a burger patty on top, followed by fresh lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and pickles.
